This morning I awoke to the sound of kookaburras singing.

Perched in a tree, or some other high-up place just beyond my bedroom window their full-throttle song so reminiscent of infectious, hearty laughter had me smiling instantly.

I listened to the joyous notes until the song ended as abruptly as it had started. Then, the whoosh of flapping of wings and the kookaburras were gone.

And even though it was quiet again in my bedroom the joy of the kookaburras’ song lingered on in my mind as I got out of bed, still smiling.

Until next time, Jo
